Make your way towards North Norfolk on the A1065 via Swaffham (from London / South East), or on the A148 from King's Lynn (from the North or Midlands). Note for travel from London/SE - at less quiet times, esp Friday evenings / peak periods, it is now better to avoid the slow queues in Brandon by ignoring the A1065 and staying on the A11, now dual carriageway, until turning left onto the A134 (for King's Lynn), then 6-7 miles later turn right at the Mundford roundabout onto the A1065 for Swaffham.
All routes above meet at Fakenham - from here follow the A148 towards Holt and Cromer. About a mile after the bp garage ignore the first sign to Sharrington, in woods, to the right. Half a mile later turn right at the next sign to Sharrington into Ash Yard, opposite Sharrington Strawberries - look out for the big plastic strawberry!
Go past the duck pond (slowly!) and at the green you will see Sharrington Hall in front of you. Go past the Hall entrance, then the driveway to Cartshed Cottages is on the right 20 yards on. If you get to an open field, you’ve gone too far. For Salt, go in the Hall entrance and Salt is immediately on your left, overlooking the green.
And if you miss the turning off the main road opposite the oversized strawberry, don’t worry, take the next right - this is the old Hall driveway and takes you back to the green. If you find yourselves in Holt, you’re a couple of miles away: turn around.
If you’re on google maps or a satnav, the postcode is NR24 2PQ.
